What can I expect from the new CFP V3.0?

What can I expect from the new CFP V3.0?

What is the CFP, and why was it introduced?

In April 2024, we launched the Cool Farm Platform (CFP) as the foundation for all our pathways moving forward. Within the CFP, we introduced the Perennials Module, which has been widely adopted by both members and non-members. In July 2025, we released updated v3.0 methodologies for the Perennials Module and the Annual Crops Module in the CFP. In November 2025, the Dairy and Beef Pathways have been successfully migrated and updated to v3.0 methodology. f you haven't already, sign up for a free account using the link below:

These have been the first steps in transitioning away from our older tool, the Cool Farm Tool (CFT). The CFT, built on outdated infrastructure, was becoming cumbersome. As we updated our methodology for the pathways housed within the CFT, we decided to integrate these updates into the CFP, enabling a smoother transition.

What’s new in CFP V3.0?

The CFP V3.0 includes several key updates:

  • Introduction of the V3.0 methodology, fully integrated into the CFP infrastructure.

  • Annual crop pathway upgrade to 3.0 within the CFP. Including bespoke pathways for rice and potatoes.

  • Dairy & Beef pathway upgrade to 3.0 within the CFP. Including own grown feed & herd inventory refresh

  • Addition of new SOC & nursery models to the Perennial pathway in the CFP

  • Aggregation report functionality within the CFP.

When will the CFT be decommissioned?

We do not have a confirmed decommissioning date for the CFT at this time, but will inform members and users in time.

When will the biodiversity and water metrics be available on the CFP?

We will be migrating these across to the Cool Farm Platform as soon as possible after the GHG crop, dairy and beef pathways are live, and user data is migrated.

Will my assessments from the CFT be automatically transferred to CFP?

Yes, please find more articles and details about the migration to CFP in the knowledge base.

Regarding API changes, will updated technical documentation be available?

Yes, there is new API documentation available. Please email support@coolfarmtool.org for more information.
