My crop is not listed in the CFP perennials pathway. Can I use it for other crops?

The current methodology behind the Cool Farm perennials pathway only supports the crops you see in the dropdown list. Unfortunately we cannot recommend to use any of the options as proxy/alternative, as each perennial crop exhibits a unique growth pattern that influences biomass accumulation and carbon input depending on various conditions.

However, we invite interested parties to engage with us to add new crops to the list. This will require data for these new crop typologies as well as funding for the development costs. Attached you find a detailed description about the requirements for new typologies.

Currently there is work in progress to add tea and vines.

Please get in touch with us via support@coolfarmtool.org if you are interested in supporting and funding new typologies to this pathway.
